Primary School Holiday Programmes

At Tots & Teddies, we offer full-day student care holiday programmes when schools take a break. During the holiday period, we organise thematic project-based programmes to inculcate life skills and learning experiences beyond the classroom.

What Does Our Programme Cover?

It is Tots & Teddies’ mission to aid children to flourish to be well-rounded, inquisitive, caring and confident individuals. In our centre, we believe in giving kids early exposure to educational experiences at a young age. That is why during the previous November to December holidays in 2021, we ran a food-truck design project for students in our holiday camp in Singapore. Taking on that thematic project allowed our students to experience what it is like to be an entrepreneur with exposure to research, marketing and pricing. At the same time, it gave them practical opportunities to be creative and have fun! Students were challenged to uncover the various aspects of starting a business from scratch, anticipate possible challenges and determine what was needed to overcome them, implement their plan through the building of a 3D model and they even had to pitch their business idea to a live audience virtually.
Beyond that, Tots & Teddies always works together with meticulously selected external specialist enrichment programmes providers to provide top-notch learning experiences and exposure to life-ready skills. In the recent school holiday camp we organised in Singapore, our enrichment programmes included Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as well as speech and drama.

Exposure to STEM teaches children more than science and mathematics concepts but the focus on hands-on learning with real-world applications builds a host of skill sets, including creativity, media and technology literacy, productivity, social skills, communication, flexibility and initiative. Other abilities obtained through STEM include problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, decision making, leadership, entrepreneurship and more. As such, these skill sets go a long way in preparing them to be innovative.

In addition, Speech and Drama is a powerful means for children to get to grips with the necessary building blocks for a life ahead filled with effective communication. Going further, Speech and Drama has the ability to empower children and allows them to grow in self-confidence, develop a creative imagination, empathy, and maturity in interpersonal skills. When they let their imagination push them to be creative problem-solvers, they can be inspired to imagine the impossible. With the creative power of imagination, they have the traits that play a pivotal role in equipping them to achieve success in any field. Our enrichment programmes are further bolstered by quality in-house programmes offered at Tots & Teddies such as Growth Mindset, Bizkids and Creative Arts. Subject-specific revision was also provided for students to help prepare students to gear up for school after the long break.

When children eat well, it enhances concentration, energy levels and are more likely to grow to their full potential. By providing a diverse menu encompassing local and international flavours that suits the palate of the majority of children’s nutrition needs, we supported the health and wellbeing of all children under our care.

During the course of our school holiday programme, we had in-house professional chefs delivering a menu approved by a Paediatric Nutritionist using fresh produce from premium suppliers for the benefit and health of children at our centre in Singapore. The menu and healthy eating policy at Tots & Teddies are designed and developed by Vanessa McNamara — who has 20 years’ worth of experience working as a dietitian around the world. Vanessa holds a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney and has a special interest in helping families achieve a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing their enjoyment of food.

In engaging parents to participate in activities; we invite them to join us in our Reading Programme, Home Projects, field trips and classroom or school activities. To ensure parents are well-informed of their children’s development, we provide regular updates to parents through our digital app, phone calls and email. In addition, we hold half-yearly parents-teachers meetings and at our year-end open house.
